SEAT PLAQUES

The Plaza Theatre offers engrave brass Seat Plaques that go on the arms of the seats in the theatre. These plaques can be engraved with a message of your choice. You can also select which seat they are placed on (out of the remaining available seats in the theatre).

To date, over 300 seats in the theatre have had a donation plaque attached. Please note that putting a plaque on a seat does NOT guarantee that seat will be available for you to purchase for any particular event. All tickets are first come - first served when they go on sale.

Seat Plaques are $250.00. We can accept cash or check for a Seat Plaque. We are sorry, but we can not except charge or debit cards for Seat Plaque donations.

If you would be interested in making such a donation, or getting more information, please download our Seat Plaque Purchase Form.

WALK OF STARS

The sidewalk in front of the Plaza Theatre is filled with bronze colored granite stars. These stars can be purchased by individuals, groups, or businesses and custom engraved to your specifications. They can honor family and friends, serve as memorials to loved ones, or recognize businesses or organizations.

They come in three sizes - 24"x24", 18"x18, 15"x15" and 12"x12".

The costs of the stars are $25,000.00, $10,000.00, $5,000.00 and $1,000.00 respectively. We offer payment plans for the stars, however, we can only accept cash or check. We can not accept credit or debit cards for Walk of Stars donations.

Note: Due to weather and scheduling it may take up to 6 weeks to get star engraved.

If you would like more information, please download our Walk of Stars Form or call us at 270-361-2101.

DONATION BOX

The Plaza Theatre maintains a donation box in the outer lobby near the concession stand. Please consider donating your spare change or a dollar or two if you enjoyed your visit to the Plaza. Or if the event you are attending has no admission charge.

PLANNED GIVING

Gifts by Will or Bequest
The most common form of Planned Gift is a simple bequest through a will. A bequest allows you to give in ways you may not be able to during your lifetime. Bequests can take various forms:
  1. A specific bequest directs that the Plaza Theatre receive specific assets.
  2. A general bequest directs that the Plaza Theatre receive a percentage (2%, 5%, 10% etc.) of the estate or a specified dollar amount.
  3. A residual bequest is used to give the Plaza Theatre all or a portion of whatever remains after all debts, taxes, expenses, and all other bequests have been paid.
  4. A contingent bequest takes effect only if the primary intention cannot be met. This can ensure that property will pass to the Plaza Theatre rather than unintended beneficiaries, such as the government.

While all of the above forms of outright bequests can be used to provide for unrestricted support of the Plaza Theatre's mission, any of them may be designated for a specific purpose at the Plaza Theatre.

Because of the estate-tax charitable deduction, a bequest in any of these forms can significantly reduce the tax burden of your estate.

Bequests

Before you make your will and/or other estate plans, consider the following:

  1. Make a list of the people you want to include in your plans -- family, friends, or other charitable interests.
  2. List the property you wish to distribute -- include securities, real estate, life insurance, retirement plans, and personal property.
  3. Consider ways to match the people or institutions with the property.
  4. Where appropriate, list any professionals you may need to consult -- attorney, banker, accountant, tax advisor, financial planner, investment advisor, or representative of a charitable interest.

Bequests of cash, securities, real property or other assets to the Plaza Theatre entitle your estate to a charitable deduction that can reduce or eliminate estate tax liability.

The language of a bequest is important but it need not be complex. Clearly indicate that your bequest is intended for the Plaza Theatre. Possible phrasing:

I give, devise, and bequeath to the Plaza Theatre (___% of my estate) or (the sum of $__) or (the following described property __) or (all the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate) for (the general use of the Plaza Theatre) or (for the following use or purposes___).
