Fundraising
Without the generous support of our donors and sponsors, the Plaza Theatre would never have been reopened into the beautiful facility that it is today. And without the foresight of the City of Glasgow and former Mayor Honeycutt, the theatre may have never been reopened at all and might have been eventually demolished.
Now that the Plaza is open, we need the continued support of the people and businesses of Glasgow and the surrounding region. Operating a theatre year-round is an expensive proposition, and we want to rely on tax dollars as little as possible. But just to give you an example of costs, the heating / cooling / electric bill for a theatre this size will be over $40,000.00 per year!
So far we have received over $200,000.00 in support from the community. However, most of that funding went into the final renovation and opening costs of the facility. We need continued support to help fund our operating expenses.
All donations to the Plaza are tax deductible, and we will supply you with a letter confirming your donation upon receipt of a donation.
You can make a show of support to the Plaza by purchasing a Seat Plaque, or a tile in the Walk of Stars or serve as a Sponsor for an event or performance.
